Halloween 2012. Jess as Waldo. Kitty as a fierce mountain lion.

Hi, I’m Jessica!

I grew up right here in Maplewood, in a loving, artistic home filled with many pets my family adopted throughout my childhood, including hamsters, fish, birds, dogs, cats, lizards (and others I’m sure!). After receiving my bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the College of St. Elizabeth I returned to this area. I learned early on how incredible Maplewood and South Orange are. One of my favorite local memories is of feeding the squirrels at Maplecrest Park on Oakland Road. In the 90′s the squirrels were so friendly that they would walk right up to you and take peanuts out of your hands! I absolutely loved it! Animals and I have always gotten along and I’m still interested in rescue. Kitty, my cat, was only a kitten when I found her living on the streets of Orange right before hurricane Sandy so, of course, she came home with me.

I began walking dogs and pet sitting professionally several years ago and immediately fell for the lifestyle. I love being out in the fresh air, getting exercise and constantly having an adorable pup by my side. I am honored that my clients trust me to care for their beloved pets.
As owner of peace.out.dog., I look forward to ensuring our visits with your pets are filled with love, care, and lots of fun!

Jess and a pal, ready for winter walking!
